Medical Disclaimer
SteadyHeart is a home health-management and record-keeping tool for heart-failure patients and family caregivers of all ages. Please read this disclaimer carefully before use so you understand what SteadyHeart can and cannot do.
All analyses, alerts, and educational content in this app are for health-management reference only. They do not constitute medical diagnosis, treatment advice, or medication guidance, and cannot replace an in-person consultation with a licensed physician. If you feel unwell or see abnormal readings, seek in-person care promptly or call emergency services.
Not a medical device
SteadyHeart is not a medical device. It does not make medical diagnoses, does not provide treatment plans, and does not give prescriptions or dosage advice. SteadyHeart's role is to help you record and organize home health data. Any decisions about diagnosis, treatment, or medication should be made by a licensed physician.
AI content boundaries
The AI features in SteadyHeart are used only to organize and describe the data you have already recorded. Their output is descriptive and does not constitute a medical opinion or diagnostic conclusion. AI-generated content always carries this disclaimer. For critical values that may indicate risk, SteadyHeart uses a rules-first approach to guide you toward care rather than relying on AI judgment.
Nature of deterministic alerts
SteadyHeart's alerts are triggered by fixed, predictable rules. They are reminders to seek in-person care promptly, not medical decisions. The following are example thresholds that prompt a care-seeking reminder, for awareness only:
- Weight gain of more than 2 kg over 3 days;
- Blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) below 90%;
- Resting heart rate above 120 bpm or below 40 bpm;
- Reduced urine output (oliguria) combined with weight gain.
These thresholds are examples only. If they occur, consult a physician or seek care promptly, and rely on your physician for the final judgment.
Educational content
The educational articles in SteadyHeart are human-reviewed, general health information, with authoritative citations such as the ESC, AHA, and China Heart Failure guidelines. They address common situations and do not constitute individualized medical advice for you.
Emergencies
If you experience severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, orthopnea, chest pain, or a change in consciousness, call your local emergency number immediately or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not rely on this app to make that judgment.
Responsibility
You and your caregivers should always make health and medical decisions under the guidance of a licensed physician and in light of your own circumstances. The features and content SteadyHeart provides are only aids for recording and management, and using this app does not change where that responsibility lies.
